29th April to 3rd May 2026
Curiad Bangor or Bangor Pulse is a free music, poetry and spoken word festival held annually in Bangor, North Wales since 2015. The festival showcases some of the very best of North West Wales’s bands, songwriters and poetic talent. Events run in town at various venues throughout the festival.
The festival gives local bands, musicians and writers a chance to perform and to give local venues some much needed support. It’s a community event run by volunteers in which everyone performs for free. It’s also completely free to attend: just come and go as you like. Every type of music and style of spoken word is included. We’ve had student bands doing their first-ever gig and veterans of blues and jazz with loyal followings. You might hear heavy metal, folk or psychedelia. There’s been humorous memoir, political rap and surreal poetry on offer.
If you would like to perform at the festival, please fill out the application form which will be open from 1st March to 31st March. We will be in touch with performers in early April to offer slots.
Each year Curiad Bangor Pulse raises money for two charities, one local and one national. This year we will raising money for the national charity The M E Association which helps people with ME/CFS and Long Covid. Our local charity will be Bangor Cathedral Foodbank. Our donations link will be available here shortly.
Here are some of the highlights from 2025, and we look forward to welcoming you back in April.
